Sand artist Kseniya Simonova will perform at Verbier Music Festival
On 31st July at Verbier Music Festival (Switzerland) a unique performance will take place. Two pianists - Georgy Gromov and Maria Masycheva and Sand artist Kseniya Simonova will perform together "Cinderella" by Prokofiev. Simonova will recreate the fairy tale story in live sand drawing, following the music played by two pianos.
Verbier Music Festival in Switzerland was found in 19947 This year it celebrates 25th Anniversary. Ninety-seven of the world’s most talented young orchestral musicians have been selected to be part of the prestigious Verbier Festival Orchestra (VFO) programme this summer.
This year, the Verbier Festival’s 25th anniversary marks this event with maestro Valery Gergiev as Music Director perormance with Verbier orchestra. World renown artists such as Yury Bashmet, Yudzha Wang, Leonidas Kawakos, Gautier and Reno Kapusony, Yevgeny Kisin, Denis Matsuev, Mikhail Pletnev and many others will also perform at the festival.
Simonova has performed her sand animation in real-time with many symphony orchestras - YouTube Symphony orchestra, Symphony Orchestra della Toscana, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Aalborg, orchestra of Wermland opera and others.
The beginning of this kind of collaboration was the Sydney performance of Simonova, where the on-line Gala of YouTube Symphony orchestra, including sand animation performance for “Ascending bird” was viewed online 33 million times.
This year Simonova will perfom a beautiful fairy-tale "Cinderella" on music of Prokofiev performed by two pianists from Germany Georgy Gromov and Maria Masycheva. You can see the teaser here.
