Three years ago the Lady of the Sand had her first performance abroad. She was invited by President of Malta to take part in the annual 24-hours marathon aimed to help people with serious illness — cancer the most.
There, at the Christmas Eve she presented her sand story called «The Planet of Childhood» and received ovations from all the country. In her turn, Kseniya says that Malta appeared to be a place where the children looked the happiest in the world.
The marathon called L’Istrina collected more than 2,5 mln euro per 24 hours which were transferred to help people with hard diseases. After the performance of Ukrainian sand artist she received an audience of Mr President and had a conversation with him. She says:
— I was surprised to see this sort of informality... It was the first time I ever met a President, and I didn’t notice any guard surrounding him. It looked to... sincere. And the way we spoke to each other was very touching. And I think, it’s normal. The conversation must be a process of two equal speakers — without matter that one of them is the President. Only in this case the other one — who is not President — can have enough freedom to speak open...
Kseniya says that it is a great memory now, and she is happy that her first abroad performance was in Malta.
— It was so inspiring, so beautiful, so... happy. I still call Malta «Planet of Happiness», — she smiles.
